India, Sept. 10 -- Two women were allegedly killed by their husbands in separate incidents in Uttar Pradesh, with one of the victims seven months pregnant, police said on Wednesday.

In Hardoi's Bilgram area, 24-year-old Kiran was allegedly beaten to death with a stick by her husband following an argument on Tuesday evening, police said.

The incident took place in Mayora village, where Kiran and her husband Vishal Pal lived with their one-year-old daughter. The couple had been married for around three years.

Pal's mother, Prema, who attempted to intervene, was also allegedly assaulted.

Neighbours alerted the police after hearing screams. Kiran was taken to a community health centre in Bilgram, where doctors declared her dead.
