India, Sept. 17 -- Two militants suspected to be affiliated to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed in an ongoing operation in a remote high-altitude forest area in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, officials said on Thursday.

The joint operation by the Army, police and CRPF was going on in the Brattal Sohan and Khubban areas of Majalta despite incessant rain, they said.

Army confirmed the killing of two terrorists in the operation.

"In a joint intelligence-based operation during the intervening night of September 16-17, confirmed inputs indicated the presence of terrorists in the general area of Brattal, Udhampur.
