India, April 3 -- Two people were detained after they allegedly climbed onto a mosque structure and waved a saffron flag during a religious procession in southeast Delhi's Tughlakabad area on Wednesday, police said.
The incident took place around 1:30 pm when a Shobha Yatra was passing through the locality. According to police, the two individuals climbed onto the tin shed of the ablution area (wuzu khana) of the mosque and began waving the flag, causing concern among local residents.
Police personnel present in the area responded quickly. Beat staff on motorcycle patrol noticed the activity and immediately intervened. The two men were brought down from the structure without delay, preventing the situation from escalating further.
