India, May 23 -- Samarth Singh, the husband of model and actor Twisha Sharma, has been taken into police custody after remaining absconding for 10 days in connection with a dowry death case registered in Madhya Pradesh.

According to officials, Samarth Singh reached the Jabalpur district court on Friday to surrender but could not proceed as the court was not functioning at the time. He was subsequently taken into custody by the Jabalpur police and later handed over to the Bhopal police.

Police officials confirmed that he will now be interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation, and necessary seizures and legal procedures will follow before he is produced in court.
