India, Nov. 3 -- Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor has received an extortion threat demanding Rs 5 crore from a caller claiming to be Harry Boxer, a member of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang, according to media reports.

Kapoor approached the Mumbai Police after receiving the threatening call. The matter was subsequently handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch for investigation.

As part of the probe, the Crime Branch's technical team examined the audio recording of the call and compared the caller's voice with official audio samples of Harry Boxer available in its database.

Senior police officials said the two recordings did not match, raising suspicions that the caller may have been impersonating the gang member.
