India, Aug. 14 -- Three policemen were shot dead and four others, including a passerby, were injured in two targeted attacks allegedly by banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) gunmen in Pakistan's Punjab province, police said on Friday, August 14.

The attacks took place in Lahore's thickly populated Badami Bagh area and at Yateem Khana Chowk, the headquarters of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Thursday night.

Punjab Deputy Inspector General of Police Kamran Faisal told reporters that Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, which is associated with the TTP, has claimed responsibility for the attacks both of which targeted police.
