Tripura makes singing of Vande Mataram and National Anthem mandatory in all schools
India, July 7 -- The Tripura government has made the singing of the full version of the national song 'Vande Mataram', followed by the national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana', compulsory in all schools across the state, Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Tuesday.
In a Facebook post, Saha said the decision has been taken in line with the Ministry of Home Affairs' guidelines on maintaining the dignity, decorum and official rendition of the national song. He said the move aims to promote national integration and foster respect for national symbols among students.
