India, April 13 -- A citywide tree plantation campaign under the New Delhi Municipal Council gathered strong public participation on Sunday, with officials describing it as a growing people's movement aimed at expanding green cover and promoting environmental responsibility.
The drive was led by NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal at a residential area in Gole Market, where local residents joined hands with civic officials to plant saplings as part of a weekly initiative being carried out across the capital.
