Train coach attendant arrested for carrying liquor from UP to Bihar
India, Aug. 26 -- The Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested a coach attendant of the Gharib Nawaz Express for allegedly carrying liquor from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar for sale at higher prices, officials said on Wednesday.
GRP Ballia station in-charge Raj Kapoor Singh said the accused, identified as Rahul Kumar Ram, 28, a resident of Kumadpur village under Rangra police station in Bihar's Bhagalpur district, was arrested during a checking drive at Ballia railway station on Tuesday.
Police recovered over two dozen bottles of liquor from his backpack, Singh said.
