India, May 18 -- Delhi Traffic Police issued 2,846 challans and registered 32 FIRs during a special enforcement drive against wrong-side driving and other traffic violations carried out across the Capital on Saturday evening.

The two-hour operation was conducted jointly by the Traffic Police and local police teams between 4 pm and 6 pm at several vulnerable locations identified for frequent traffic violations and unsafe driving practices.

According to Delhi Traffic Police, the campaign was mainly aimed at curbing wrong-side driving, which officials described as one of the leading causes of road accidents and traffic congestion in the city.

Out of the total challans issued during the drive, 757 were specifically for wrong-side driving. ...
