India, May 4 -- A Trinamool Congress (TMC) party office was set on fire in Jamuria on Monday amid rising political tensions during counting day of the West Bengal Assembly Election Results 2026, as early trends showed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading strongly in the state.
The incident occurred as counting of votes progressed and reports of political clashes surfaced from multiple districts across West Bengal.
Apart from the Jamuria incident, clashes were also reported in Asansol and Dinhata, where supporters of rival parties allegedly engaged in violent confrontations near counting centres.
