Tiger cub found dead in Bhopal forest, territorial fight suspected
India, Aug. 18 -- The carcass of a nearly one-year-old tiger cub found in the Samaradha forest near Bhopal on Sunday was cremated on Monday after a postmortem examination. Preliminary findings indicate that the cub was likely killed by an adult tiger during a territorial fight.
The carcass was found near the forest outpost at Haripura village on the Raisen Road. Forest officials noticed injury marks on the cub's neck, prompting suspicion that it had been involved in a conflict with another tiger.
Wildlife veterinarians Dr Prashant Deshmukh and Dr Amit Odh conducted the postmortem in the presence of Forest Department officials. The examination found all the internal organs of the deceased cub intact.
