India, May 24 -- A tragic incident near the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh has triggered anger among local residents after a tiger entered a residential area and killed a woman while injuring several others.

The incident reportedly occurred early on Sunday in Panpatha village near the reserve area in Umaria district.

Authorities said the tiger wandered close to homes and attacked people in the locality.

The woman who lost her life was identified as Phool Bai Pal. Reports said at least four other people suffered injuries during the attack.

Following the incident, fear and panic spread across the village as residents demanded immediate action from forest officials to prevent such attacks in the future.
