India, Sept. 21 -- Three residents of a housing society in Hyderabad's Madannapet were taken into police custody on Sunday after a packet containing bones and food waste was allegedly thrown near an Annadanam distribution area during Ganesh immersion celebrations, police said.

Charminar Zone DCP Kiran Khare said the incident took place around 3 pm at the 2 BHK Police Housing Society in Madannapet. According to the preliminary information received by police, some residents allegedly threw non-vegetarian material, which the DCP described as being "like beef", from the housing society while Ganesh immersion and an Annadanam programme were underway nearby.
