India, Aug. 10 -- A court in Maharashtra's Thane district has sentenced a 40-year-old man to life imprisonment after convicting him of kidnapping and killing his cousin over money disputes more than 11 years ago.

In his order of August 5, a copy of which was made available on Saturday, Additional Sessions Judge R V Tamhanekar from Kalyan also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict, Husen Harun Shaikh, a resident of the Ulhasnagar area.

According to the prosecution, the victim, Ramjan Shahavali Shaikh, went missing on July 25, 2015, after the accused had demanded money from him for alcohol and ganja and threatened him.
