India, Sept. 10 -- A confrontation broke out between protesting students and police at Government Polytechnic College in Ramanthapur on Thursday, amid the ongoing agitation against Telangana government order GO 97.

According to preliminary reports, the situation escalated when police tried to control a gathering of protesting students on the college premises, leading to a scuffle between the two sides.

A heavy police contingent was deployed on the campus to bring the situation under control and prevent further escalation. Media personnel were reportedly not allowed inside the college premises during the incident.
