India, Aug. 12 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to purchase new coaches for Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd in view of passenger rush and to expedite metro works in the Old City.

Reddy, who held a meeting with HMRL officials, said additional coaches need to be added to the metro trains in view of the rise in metro ridership and instructed them to take steps to acquire new coaches.

He told the officials to complete road expansion from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) to Chandrayangutta and to start the process of tenders for metro works in the 7.5 km corridor in Phase-2.
