India, July 6 -- The reappointment of Prof Yogesh Singh as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi (DU) for a second consecutive full term marks a historic milestone in the university's history. For the first time since its establishment, a vice-chancellor has been entrusted with a consecutive second term.

Welcoming the decision, the Delhi University Progressive Teachers' Association (DUPTA) described it as a visionary and historic step in the larger interest of the university and India's higher education system.
