India, June 1 -- Tamil Nadu CM C Joseph Vijay addressed his first major public thanksgiving rally since taking office, using the platform to respond to critics and outline his government's vision for Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at a rally in Tiruchirappalli, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said opposition parties had started criticising his administration almost immediately after it assumed power. Taking an apparent swipe at M K Stalin and the DMK, Vijay remarked that those who had promised to remain silent for six months could not stay quiet even for six days.
