India, June 25 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay flagged off 300 newly inducted buses for the state-run transport corporations, marking a major push to strengthen public transportation and improve commuter services across the state.

The new fleet, comprising diesel and CNG-powered buses, will be deployed across seven state transport corporations to replace ageing vehicles and enhance connectivity in both urban and rural areas. Officials said the move is aimed at improving passenger safety, comfort and service reliability.
