Suspended BKTC staffer arrested in Badrinath donation theft
India, July 14 -- On Sunday night, Uttarakhand Police arrested Pramod Nautiyal, a suspended employee of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), on suspicion of irregularities in the handling of donations at the Badrinath shrine.
Nautiyal, who worked as a personal assistant to the BKTC Chairman, was taken from his home in Dehradun by Chamoli police and brought to Badrinath for questioning. He is now being questioned at the Badrinath police station, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (Chamoli) Surjit Singh Panwar.
Panwar told reporters, "He was arrested on Sunday night and brought to Badrinath. We are questioning him in connection with the donation irregularities case." This follows an FIR registered at the Badrina...
