Subrata Gupta appointed West Bengal CM advisor in new Government reshuffle
India, May 9 -- Retired IAS officer Subrata Gupta has been appointed as advisor to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, according to an official notification issued on Saturday.
Gupta, a 1990-batch IAS officer, had previously served as the Special Roll Observer for the Election Commission during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise conducted ahead of the recently concluded Assembly elections in the State.
Officials said Gupta's extensive administrative experience is expected to assist the new government in policy coordination and governance-related decision-making.
