India, March 28 -- In a swift and life-saving response, troops of the Indian Army extended immediate medical assistance to a seven-year-old child who suffered a snakebite.
At approximately 5 pm, a distressed local family reached the Company Operating Base (COB) at Hanuman Top, in Imphal East District, seeking urgent help. Acting promptly, troops initiated first aid under the guidance of the Regimental Medical Officer (RMO). The wound was carefully treated, and the affected limb was immobilised to prevent the spread of venom.
Following initial stabilisation, the child was swiftly evacuated to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for advanced medical care.
