India, July 18 -- The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating allegations of embezzlement of donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya is anticipated to submit an interim report to the Supreme Court on Monday, according to sources familiar with the matter.

This development follows the recent directives issued by the SC during hearings on petitions seeking a fair and expeditious investigation. Sources also indicated that the SIT may seek additional time from the Uttar Pradesh Government to complete its investigation.

The SIT, formed by the State Government, has been reviewing claims of mismanagement and misappropriation of funds and offerings at the temple.
