Singapore Minister Faishal Ibrahim resigns after conduct review over interactions with woman
India, July 20 -- Singapore's Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, has resigned from the Cabinet, Parliament and the ruling People's Action Party (PAP) following a review into his interactions with a woman.
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said the minister's conduct fell short of the standards expected of political office holders, even though police investigations found no criminal offence had been committed.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, most of the interactions took place through online messages, with a few meetings at public events. Faishal admitted that he had exercised poor judgment and failed to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
