India, May 22 -- Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has voiced concerns over the withholding of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) account on X, saying that democratic systems should provide space for dissent, satire, and public expression.

His remarks came amid growing debate surrounding the viral satirical movement and the restriction placed on its social media account in India.

Tharoor described the move as "deeply unwise" and argued that democracy functions best when people are allowed to express frustration, criticism, and opinions through peaceful and creative channels.
