India, June 24 -- A warehouse shed collapsed in the Taratala area of Kolkata on Wednesday afternoon, leaving several people feared trapped under the debris, officials said.

The incident took place at an under-construction warehouse site, triggering panic in the locality and prompting an immediate rescue response. Emergency teams, including disaster response forces and fire services, rushed to the spot to carry out search and rescue operations.

According to preliminary information, the structure gave way suddenly while construction work was underway. The exact number of people trapped or injured is yet to be confirmed.
