India, Sept. 1 -- Security has been stepped up across the New Delhi district ahead of a protest march called by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) from India Gate to the Police Headquarters on Jai Singh Marg, near Jantar Mantar on September 5, police sources said on Tuesday.

Delhi Police has enhanced security arrangements in and around Jantar Mantar, where additional personnel have been deployed and barricading has been put in place as a precautionary measure ahead of the proposed march, the sources said.

The CJP has announced the march from India Gate to the Police Headquarters. A police source said that no permission has been granted for the proposed march so far.
