India, July 13 -- On July 11, 2026, in the afternoon hours, a crowd of nearly 600 to 700 persons attempted to advance towards Kanto Sabal, Imphal West district of Manipur, where an illegal block has been set up by another community, Ministry of Defence said in a press release.

Indian Army columns promptly intervened, with Manipur Police. It separated the opposing groups and prevented the situation from escalating into a potential communal clash.
