India, Aug. 27 -- The Supreme Court would hear on September 1 the plea of the Centre seeking clarification on the applicability of its March 11 judgment on OBC creamy layer criteria to candidates of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025. According to the apex court website, a special bench comprising Justices P S Narasimha and R Mahadevan, which had passed the judgment on March 11 in the case, would assemble at 3.30 pm on September 1 to hear the plea of the Centre.

On Tuesday, a bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana agreed to consider setting up a special bench to hear the Centre's plea.
