India, July 15 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to hear next week a batch of applications filed by the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh Government seeking modification of its directions regulating industrial activity in the Taj Trapezium Zone.

The matter was mentioned before a bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana by Attorney General R Venkataramani.

During the proceedings, the state Government informed the bench that its application seeking modification of the top court's October 2024 directions, which prohibit the establishment of new industries and the expansion of existing industries within the Zone, had been pending for some time.
