Sanjay Raut alleges Rs.50 crore offer to Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs amid defection rumours
India, June 17 -- Fresh political turmoil has emerged within the Shiv Sena (UBT) after senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut alleged that attempts are being made to lure party MPs with huge financial offers.
Raut claimed that some MPs were promised up to Rs.50 crore to switch sides, with an advance payment of around Rs.15 crore allegedly being offered as part of the deal.
The allegations come amid growing speculation of a possible split within the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction. Reports suggest that several Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs have reached Delhi, sparking rumours of a move towards the rival Eknath Shinde-led camp.
