India, March 25 -- Delhi Budget 2026-27, tabled by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the Assembly on Tuesday, allocated Rs 3,942 crore to the power department, including Rs 3,500 crore for subsidy payments and Rs 200 crore for shifting overhead wires underground.
A Delhi Energy Conservation Fund to promote energy efficiency and conservation in the national capital is also proposed in the budget.
"With the allocation of Rs 3,942 crore for the power department, we will not only continue the power subsidy but also take Delhi towards energy self-reliance through PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna and an incentive-based scheme for promoting solar power," Gupta said in her budget speech.
