India, Sept. 9 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved 4-laningof the Secunderabad (Ghatkesar) - Kazipet railway line with a total cost of Rs 2,419 crore. The proposed time period to complete the project is four years.

The route length is 110 km, with 17 major bridges and 151 minor bridges. It covers Medchal - Malkajgiri, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon and Warangal districts in Telangana. The approved capacity enhancement will improve rail connectivity to several prominent tourist destinations in the state, including Yadagirigutta Temple, Bhongir Fort, Surendrapuri, Swarnagiri Temple and others.
