India, March 7 -- The Delhi Government has approved major stormwater drainage remodelling projects worth over Rs 177 crore to strengthen the Capital's drainage infrastructure and reduce waterlogging during the monsoon. The projects, sanctioned by the Public Works Department (PWD) under the New Master Drainage Plan, will cover several key areas in North and North-West Delhi.
According to officials, the works will focus on remodelling and upgrading existing stormwater drains using modern precast RCC technology. The projects are expected to improve drainage capacity, speed up construction, and minimise disruption to traffic during execution.
