India, June 23 -- Cricketer Rohit Sharma was among the distinguished personalities honoured as President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Padma Awards during a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.

The second Civil Investiture Ceremony for 2026 saw the President presenting Padma awards to 65 recipients, recognising excellence across fields such as sports, arts, literature, public affairs and social service.

Rohit Sharma, one of India's leading cricketers and former national team captain, was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cricket. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior dignitaries.
