India, Sept. 1 -- Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's remarks comparing BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao to a pig have triggered a sharp backlash from the BRS, with senior leader T Harish Rao demanding an unconditional apology.

Speaking at a public meeting in Hyderabad on Monday after inaugurating the Moosarambagh-Amberpet bridge, Reddy went after Rao over the BRS campaign targeting the Congress government's 1,000-day rule. He called for six days of dharnas starting Tuesday demanding Rao's resignation, accusing him of staying confined to his farmhouse and skipping the Assembly for 1,000 days.
