India, May 1 -- A shocking incident unfolded in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district wherere a man allegedly shot his wife during a wedding function before dying by suicide, police said.

The incident took place in Singhavali village under the Rupwas police station area when a family celebration was underway at the woman's parental home.

According to police, the accused, Raghavendra (31), a resident of Agra, arrived at the venue around noon and called his wife, Radhika (28), into a room. The couple reportedly got into an argument, following which he locked the room and fired at her using a country-made pistol. He then turned the weapon on himself.
