Punjab man dies after being set ablaze by brother-in-law while trying to reconcile with wife
India, July 4 -- A 31-year-old man in Punjab's Tarn Taran district has died after allegedly being set on fire by his brother-in-law while trying to bring his estranged wife back home. The shocking incident, which was captured on CCTV, took place when the victim visited his wife's parental home in an attempt to resolve an ongoing domestic dispute.
According to police, the victim was allegedly attacked after an argument with his in-laws. His brother-in-law is accused of pouring petrol on him and setting him ablaze. The severely injured man was rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his burn injuries during treatment. Police have registered a murder case and launched a search for the accused, who is currently absconding.
