India, Oct. 6 -- Production on "The Batman Part II" has been temporarily paused as director Matt Reeves takes a break to focus on a family matter, Warner Bros and DC Studios said.

A representative of the studios shared the news in a statement obtained by Variety.

"Production on 'The Batman Part II' has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter. Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon," the statement said.

Robert Pattinson is set to return as the Caped Crusader in the sequel, which has faced multiple delays since it was announced.
