India, April 12 -- Preparations for the Tripura tribal council elections have been completed, with polling personnel being dispatched to booths with election materials, an official said on Saturday.

Polling for the 28-seat Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) council is scheduled to be held on April 12 across 1,257 booths in all eight districts of the northeastern State.

A total of 9,62,547 electors will decide the fate of 173 candidates from various political parties such as the BJP, Tripura Motha Party, CPI(M) and Congress.
