India, Sept. 10 -- Manipuri musician Chongtham Vikram Singh died of massive internal bleeding caused by severe physical trauma to his chest and abdomen, according to his post-mortem report released on Thursday.

The 54-year-old was allegedly attacked by a group of men after he confronted them over noise outside his house in Kilokari village on Sunday.

A senior police officer said the attackers kicked Singh on his chest and abdomen after he fell to the ground. The post-mortem findings established the nature of the injuries sustained during the assault, the officer said.

Dr Sudhir Gupta, Chief of Forensic Medicine at AIIMS, said Singh died following severe physical assault on his chest and abdomen, which resulted in massive bleeding.
