India, June 15 -- A man who was declared a proclaimed offender earlier this month for repeatedly attacking his wife with a knife, holding her responsible for the deaths of their two newborn children, was arrested by the Delhi Police's Crime Branch in Ghaziabad on Saturday. He was traced to a hideout while allegedly plotting another assault on her.

The accused, Sajid Ali, a resident of Bindapur, had been on the run since 2025 to avoid arrest. He was declared a proclaimed offender in an attempt-to-murder case registered at the Dabri police station in 2021. He was also wanted in a separate case involving grievous hurt and had been evading trial in another criminal case.
