Police: Noida Protest accused received Rs 1 Crore Foreign Funds
India, May 15 -- Noida Police on Thursday claimed that an accused linked to violent labour protests in the city received more than Rs 1 crore from foreign countries in his personal bank account.
According to the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police, the money was transferred in the form of dollars, pounds and euros to the account of accused Satyam Verma.
The revelations surfaced during an investigation into violent labour demonstrations that took place across Noida on April 13. Police said around 40,000 to 45,000 workers gathered at more than 80 locations, leading to major disruption and law and order concerns.
