India, May 15 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his six-day, five-nation diplomatic tour with a visit to the United Arab Emirates, where discussions focused on energy security, defence cooperation and regional stability amid the ongoing West Asia conflict.

During his visit to Abu Dhabi, PM Modi held delegation-level talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and thanked him for the warm welcome extended to the Indian delegation.

"I have come to my second home. This sentiment is a huge capital of my life," PM Modi said, while also appreciating the ceremonial escort provided by UAE Air Force F16 fighter jets as his aircraft entered Emirati airspace.
