India, May 17 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin the third leg of his five-nation diplomatic tour with a visit to Gothenburg on Sunday at the invitation of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

The visit, scheduled for May 17-18, is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Sweden across sectors such as trade, innovation and emerging technologies.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the visit aims to further deepen strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Modi had previously visited Sweden in 2018 for the first-ever India-Nordic Summit, marking a significant step in India's engagement with Nordic nations.
