India, April 13 -- The National Commission for Women has invited participation from the academic community for a programme on women's empowerment to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 13.

In an official communication issued on April 10, the Commission said the event on "Nari Shakti" will be held at 9 am on Monday. The letter was addressed to the Vice Chancellor of Ambedkar University, Delhi, seeking support to ensure wide participation from students and faculty.

According to the communication, the programme aims to celebrate and strengthen the role of women in nation-building. It also seeks to inspire young women to take an active part in shaping a progressive and inclusive society.
