India, July 13 -- Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary on Sunday called for turning environmental conservation into a mass movement, saying that merely planting saplings is not enough and their protection and nurturing are equally important.

Chaudhary planted a sapling during an event organised under the 'Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam' campaign at Baba Shahmal Stadium in Baraut and urged people to plant more trees and pledge to look after them.
