India, May 4 -- Assam minister Pijush Hazarika has secured a decisive victory from the Jagiroad Assembly Constituency in the Assembly Elections 2026, winning by a massive margin of 93,584 votes, according to the Election Commission of India.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader defeated Congress candidate Bubul Das, further strengthening his political standing in the state. With this win, Hazarika has become a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the fourth consecutive term.
Hazarika, who began his electoral journey in 2011 by winning the Raha seat, has since maintained a stronghold in Jagiroad, securing victories in 2016, 2021, and now 2026.
