Parliament stalls again: Opposition protests force Lok Sabha adjournment amid uproar
India, July 20 -- Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted on Monday after opposition members raised slogans over several issues, forcing repeated interruptions and an adjournment of the House till noon. As soon as the session began, opposition MPs entered the Well of the House, shouted slogans, and demanded discussions on issues they wanted the government to address.
Speaker Om Birla appealed to the protesting members to return to their seats and allow Question Hour to continue, stressing that Parliament is meant for meaningful debate and discussion. He reminded members that citizens elect MPs to raise public concerns through parliamentary procedures rather than through disruptions.
